Carol Ann Hartlerode, age 78, of Troy, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. The oldest daughter of Frederick and Marjorie Nash, she was born on April 27, 1948, in Detroit.
Carol was a proud elementary educator, retiring from the Troy School District after 35 years of dedicated service. A long-time parishioner of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, she generously volunteered her time in many different roles throughout the years.
Carol was always up for a game or two of cards; she met monthly to play euchre with fellow retired teachers and shared countless rounds of three-handed euchre with her daughter and son-in-law.
Carol possessed a remarkably generous spirit and found immense joy in giving. She loved buying thoughtful presents for friends and family and took great pride in supporting many different charities throughout her lifetime.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Marjorie Nash, and her sister and brother-in-law, Catherine and Gary Bailey.
Carol is survived by her loving daughter, Andrea (Christopher), and brother, John (Lynn).
Visitation is at 9:30 am on Saturday, June 20th, at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church (280 E. Square Lake Rd., Troy, MI 48085) to be followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Carol’s name may be made to two of her favorite charities: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or The Alzheimer’s Association.
